    Hello,

I wrote Foleys about a another charged off account and asked them to provide me verification that this is my account via a contract with my signature.

The Foleys Profit & Loss\Bankruptcy department just wrote me back stating that they are in receipt of my recent request to update the information being reported on my credit file. They said that they have reviewed my account records and that they have requested the credit bureau's TO CHANGE THE RATING ON THE ACCOUNT, AS VERIFIED, TO A BALANCE OF 0.00. THIS ACCOUNT IS STILL A CHARGED OFF ACCOUNT, AND IT WAS ALREADY REPORTED AS 0.00.

THIS IS NOT WHAT I REQUESTED FROM FOLEYS!! One thing that sucks is that Foleys is NOT ON EXPERIAN AT ALL! WHAT DO I DO??? I don't want Experian to add this charged off account! Foley's gave me a phone number on the letter. Do I call them on Monday or write them another letter requesting this information again and letting them know that they did not provide me with what I asked for!

    HELP!!!

    THANKS!!!!!!

As a creditor dealing with accounts Foley's is horrible in my opinion.

When I worked for a credit counseling agency, Foley's policy was to immediately report all credit counseling customers as lates and not paying as agreed.

This was despite the fact that at the time, they did not change the interest, and the payment required was the same as if the customer were not on credit counseling.

Nothing like some good backup when dealing with these wonks :) I was carrying a small balance on my account and then went and bought a KitchenAid mixer (on sale, with a coupon, my weakness ;-) Anyway I wound up taking it back within 4 days since the intended birthday girl declared a desire for something else. Now mind you this happened at Strawbridges--a sister division because you can use any May Co branded card at any May Co branded store but the sales weenies don't seem to know this, but that's a whole other story!!

Well don't you know the charge shows up on the statement but the credit did not! hmmmm there was plenty of time considering other charges that I made a week later were showing. So, I sent in the normal payment amount instead of the $90 they wanted.

The day before my actual payment due date I get a phone call from Foley's "When are you going to make your payment? Can you come to a store to do it?" I told the rep I already made a payment. When he told me it wasn't enough, I asked why. "Because your balance is $XYZ and so your minimum payment is $90. What? Don't your read your statements!?" At which point I let him have it: "Sure I read my statements. I read here that I bought X, Y and Z. What I don't read is the CREDIT for Y--transaction number ######--which by my calculations makes my balance $ABC and actually less when you subtract the interest that you've been improperly charging me. So, Mister _____ quit sitting there with your hand on your d*ck and let me talk to your one of supervisors so they can do something to help me!"

He didn't say a word....instead a lovely chipper voice came on the line and asked how she could help. I explained the situation (nicely) and she apologized profusely and rescinded the pending account suspension, raised my limit and placed a personal flag on my account so she would get notified if any "adverse action" were to ever happen on my account.

(I'm usually not that snippy but I wasn't in the mood...and I borrowed that line from a Texan friend who said the same thing to a Macy's store manager when she found out they allowed her ex-husband to use her personal (individual) account to buy about $300 of stuff...
