I have to explain the scenario to get an answer so bear with me.
Upon opening the business that I manage (1 1/2 yrs ago)we had an ATM installed. The company I work for was supplied an ATM and we were to collect a commission on the transactions. We have never recieved any $$ for this.
I have learned that the company that initially we had an agreement with has gone under. A phone call to the # they used in the past only gives me a "no longer in service" message. What I am trying to find out is if I can dispose of the ATM.
    Further background:
This ATM co was started by Mr. mastermind...Mr. mastermind then convinced others to purchase the ATM's for him agreeing he would share the profits. Mr. mastermind then in turn convinced us that he would share a portion of the transactions with us as well. It turns out Mr. Mastermind kept about $6mill and is now going to jail. He didnt pay anyone/anything. The machines were purchased by a 3rd party that Mr. mastermind ALSO duped. However we sent an email about a week ago to someone representing the 3rd party to come pick up the machine. Nothing. I tried to call tonight but 3rd parties secretary said"he'll call you back."A couple fo hours pass and Nothing! We havent had service for 3 months . No money refills ..zip,nada.
I asked MY boss if I could move the machine and he suggested I store it somewhere. I have no place for it. i tiold him I was thinking about prying it from the floor(bolted down) and leaving it outside. he laughed and suggested I put it "somewhere".. I have "Nowhere" !!!What can I do? Is this abandoned property? Can I trash it or sell it?
    Help.

Check your local laws about abandonment of property. Ask a local attorney...it sounds similar (IMHO), of people putting stuff in a storage building, not paying the rent, and then having their things sold. There is probably a small claims type procedure that you would have to follow.

    Good luck!

    jlynn,
thanks for the reply. i have tried searches for abandoned property,TN
and they yield real estae type sites and/or unclaimed money sites. if anyone can point me in the right direction let me know.

Charge them monthly rent for the space it occupies.
