I am begging for a contact to anyone at Ford Credit. After 1 round of disputes, My Ford account is currently reporting to the CRA's as EXP: Never Late EQF: 30 days - 11; 60 days - 3; 90 days - 1 TU: 30 days - 9; 60 days - 2 On 12/21 I asked Ford via PFB to explain the discrepancy. They simply said the account is reporting accurately (which listing?). On 12/26 I asked for their listing of the delinquencies. I was sent a letter saying it was the following: 30 days - 12; 60 days - 8; 90 days 3 On 1/02/02 I sent an intent to sue letter for inaccurate reporting and they sent me a letter via fax saying my payment history is: 30 days-9; 60-days-2; 90-1 I know I have lates, but I am unsure how many and am becoming more and more confused every time I get a letter from Ford. I don't know what to do....bureaus won't reinvestigate because the entries were just verified on 12/12 as accurate. I'm not sure reinvestigation would help as they are diligent in verifying. Any ideas? Has anyone had any success with these follks. I refuse to talk sexy to these people...Maybe for Citi, but not these mo-fo's.
Hey Mel, Hopefully this is your only issue, but don't let them get you down. There are people in worse shape than late pays. Keep visiting here and reading religiously. The stuff you learn on this board will help you craft all future credit transactions. It's working for me, slowly but surely. When I had my loan with FMC, I'd call them if I was going to be late, and my reported history was not commensurate with the actual number of lates I had with them. Before I talked to them again, I'd make sure I was up to date on my payments, then perhaps weave a sob story with them.....You had accidently hit a speed bump in the road of life during the 60 and 90 day ones, etc. PsychDoc or George (can't remember who) had a good tutorial thread a few days ago on how to "massage" facts on the sob story. One of the tenets was that the sob story could work on onsies or twosies, not on long strings, though. Perhaps you can pull a George Costanza, or a Three's Company misunderstanding to get some of these lates deleted! Good luck, Torpedo
Thanks Torpedo. This is actually one of remaining negatives (the other being MBNA). I gave them the sob story through the PFB letter. My account is actually current. I told them the truth-got the car in college cause Dad was a Ford employee (25 years with 'em), Dad stopped working due to lung cancer and thus there was some delinquency on the account until his disability, SS, etc. kicked in. They told me that although they "value my relationship" they can not change an "accurately" reporting account. I am going to try again, though...I can't seem to get past the front-line customer service reps....
Someone I know did this <cough cough> Go to their website, email the $5 morons, telling them your records indicate otherwise. They will email you back saying it is correct (be nice, I was shocked blah blah blah). Email them again (papertrail) saying you want the name and number of a supervisor and tell them again you weren't late. Chances are they will NOT give you the name and number of a supervisor and tell you again it's reported correctly. Next email (get bitchy) say you were NOT late and if this error is not fixed within 10 business you will file a lawsuit, write in the subject line LAST LETTER BEFORE LAWSUIT IS FILED. It should work (I stress should). Get aletter sent to you if they are going to delete, saying this for your records. The person I know <cough cough> had 3 30 lates, 1 60 days. ALL gone now, they pulled the same crap, one person said 2 lates, someone else said 3 another said 5x's late. KHM
Hey I hear ya. I have an account with ford credit and have never been late. Yet all 3 CRA'S have me listed as 30 days late once??? .So I called ford and they agreed that I was never late and actually sent me documentation stating this. Believe it or not Im still having trouble getting this deleted even though I've sent the letter to the CRA'S from ford indicating that I was never late??????? go figure such is life when dealing with CRA'S Thanks
I have emailed Ford CS through their website. Got the you have to dispute info through the CRA stuff. Replied to them saying it was their responsibility to report accurate info. My request got forwarded to Exec. offices. I also sent mail CRR to their Exec. Offices. This resulted in them sending an update to the CRA's. I also CC'd my attorney on this. The first time the update was sent none of the CRA's fixed the problem. I contacted Ford again and once again they sent the info to the CRA's. Now two of the CRA's have updated, but I am seem to be having a problem with the third which it appears I will end up taking to court. Especially since the local FMC office they claim verified the info is not the office that does the verification.
Yeah they are real weenies. I sent them a letter stating I will not do business with them if they continue to report inaccurate paid lates on my credit report(s). They responded with a standard, "I am mindless, grouchy, vindictive, bureaucrat, pi*s off we won't delete" letter. I got a good one if you really want to get some satisfaction. Some of you may think this is sad and mean, but I know it works. Go down to your local Ford dealer and test drive the most expensive car on the lot. Get approved for financing, then ask to speak with the Finance rep at Ford in Deaborn,Mi the salesman will scratch his head. Proceed to tell the Finance manager in Ford Credit your late pay story and then ask him now who is in control. Tell him that a soulless apparatchik decided to go on a power trip and deny your request for clemency. Tell him that Ford is not the Federal government. that you don't have to do business with them. Tell them you only have seven years but they lost a lifetime customer. Explain that you would buy a 85 Yugo and finance through the a pawn shop in worst part of your town before you finance a car with them. Tell him to pull your file look it over then go the lavatory and wipe his rear-end with it. Listen for the stunned silence. Hang up and leave. The salesman will telling this story for years. You will have your Norma Rae moment. Works great on your local mega bank also when it's home equity time. Ford Credit is the worst, I had a car loan with them never late for 4 years. I had rough patch, I was 6 days late, no not 36..6. Their freaking auto dialer called my house every day for 7 days, 4 times a day. I called them back..the dialer kept ringing my house. "Please call ford credit..at 1---" that's it. This is Fords customer retention policy. No wonder domestic automakers are having trouble again. Finished with my Dennis Miller imitation.
I had problems with Ford also. The only way to solve the problem is to speak with the local Ford Customer Service for your area. Not that 18007277000 phone number. Get that representative to work with you. I then called all the CRs and got a supervisor when necessary (TU) and had the Ford Supervisor fax it to all the CR supervisors. Finally, it was solved. How did it affect my TU score? Not at all. Mike G.
How do you find your local Ford customer rep? I am originally from Detroit and when I showed at their Dearborn offices over the holidays (surprise!) they wouldn't see me.....Talk about customer service....I am thinking of send a letter CRR to the executive offices as well. I got in my e-mail response from Ford today this message: "Hello Mel, Thank you for contacting Ford Credit. I am sorry for the difficulties you are experiencing. Unfortunately, we are unable to assist you further via email. Please continue to channel your concerns through the credit bureaus. Thank you for visiting Ford Credit on-line. Sincerely, Cullen Chollett Ford Credit" AARRGGGPPHHH! If you were sorry you would fix my darn report. BTW, they refused to report my account as "disputed" until this mess is resolved.
Here is a good one. See you in hell, blue oval bozos. Ford in trouble Well it is our company policy to report incorrect late payments.......
How sad. It's all in the name of greed. I can't be angry at the blue collar workers they're just trying to make a living. Its those idiotic white collar executive types that I can't stand. The ones that take home $15 million in bonuses each year after laying off 15000 employees. Personally, they make me sick. Dani
