I have 2 cards with Providian, card #1 since 8/00 and card #2 since 8/01, well I always pay on time and all that happy jazz. I asked for an increase on card #2, he said I didn't use it in Nov. so NO. I used it November 29th but it didn't post til Dec 2nd. So I said fine go ahead and close it AND HE DID!! No fighting to keep me NOTHING. What an F***ing joke! So to all the newbies (at least newer than me lol) SAVE YOUR MONEY!! Try to get a Providian card at last resort! The ONLY reason I didn't close the other card is casue it's my oldest.
I've been debating what to do with my new Providian Smart Card.... reading some nasty stuff about Providian... haven't used it yet and from the sounds of it, I'll be no worse off if I close out the card.... thanks for the info.... Providian just doesn't sound user friendly! Ozzy.
Personally, I haven't had a problem with Providian. But with all the things going on with that company, I transferred my balances to Citibank...just in case they decide to bump my APR up. They've been pretty stingy lately with the increases, too...
