I received a letter today from a creditor where I had applied for a VISA card. Credit was denied by TransUnion due to "fraud warnings" on my report. I plan to request a free report from TransUnion, and my question is, will TransUnion tell me who placed the warnings on my report? I had never heard of fraud warnings on a credit report until I ran across your board. Thank you very much for any advice you could give me about how to proceed with this?

Did you ever dispute inquiries with any of the credit bureaus? They will sometimes place a fraud alert on your report with this type of dispute. The warning is easy to remove. Request the credit report. See what's on there then request for the removal.

FYI: When requesting to remove the fraud alert give the credit bureau a photo copy of your drivers license (showing your current address) and a copy of your social security card. If your drivers license does not show your current address give them a utility bill showing your current mailing address. This will speed up the process.
