Years back a person was entitled to request a copy of his credit report once a year without charge. Is this still the case? Or do you now have to pay for them unless you have been denied credit? Thanks tml

In a few states you can get one free report per year. Check the CRA sites to see which ones they are.

    http://www.experian.com/
    http://www.transunion.com/

Otherwise you have to have been denied credit, employment, or insurance, or be unemployed but looking for work, or pay $8.50 per agency in most states. I'm sure I forgot some possibilities.
