This is a little off topic, but maybe someone can answer.I got a call from a PD6 Ventures last Thursday. They said I qualified for a $200.00 loan and they would fax paperwork to be signed.I printed the fax and could hardly read the small print.Seems like these kind folks would lend me $200.00 and I would pay back $320.00. What a joke.I shredded the fax. Today I went online to check my bank statement and I see there is a deposit for $200.00. Should I have the bank send it back,or can I consider this free money? I did not sign or send them anything.

Hey give them my number (lol) I could use a bit of $$.

I'm curious. How'd they get your bank number, if you didn't send them any info or anything?

I had applied there like a month ago(online),but I did not fax back the required paperwork. They should not have sent any money until the paperwork was faxed to them(it was not)I am just concerned now because if it is a scam of some kind, they have my account number, which I initially had to fill in on the online form.Am concerned that they might try and raid my account?Otherwise I would keep the money and they would not be able to withdraw anything because I did not sign anything.Just trying to find out the legal aspect.

my gut instinct would be to call and tell them about it and insist they reverse the money at no charge (or interest) to you.

If something sounds too good to be true it probably is and since few legal transactions can be undertaken with a faxed signature, my guess is you DID sign something at your initial personal application that made you liable for accepting this money - despite any additional info. they might have requested via fax later (that you did not, in the end, provide).

This signature thing is something that fascinates me. I applied and was approved for a cc on-line with NO signature required. I don't even have to sign a sales receipt to make purchases, depending on the $$ amount and where the purchases are made (such as on-line).

So how does OC prove it's really me, and not an ID fraud?

So, how does this company prove that *YOU* applied on-line, and you didn't FAX any docs so it could totally be a fraud -- could it not? How do they prove that *YOU* applied for the loan, not not some scammer that was taking control of your checking account?
