I am so frustrated with Equifax. Like that is anything new. In July, I recieved an up dated copy of my file. On it was 2 accounts that had been deleted last year. Another that was in a bk7 in '95, it was just deleted from my husbands file. 1) in ch 7, '95. Deleted last year. Now showing reaged & with open bal. 2) duplicate entry. Deleted last year. Now showing with new name & bal. 3) in ch 7, '95. Never on report before. Account was sold in June, 02. Was reporting as R9. They deleted it on my husbands & reported it as being in BK 7 on mine. I don't know what to do any more. I sent in all the paper work last year. Thus getting everything deleted. I called in twice now & investigaed once with no results. I just called in this morning with copys of last years reports in front of me. I gave her dates of deletion. She didn't care. I asked for someone specific to talk to or fax in for them to look at. She gave me the run around. Ended with we will reinvestigate. It didn't even matter that just 2 weeks ago they deleted the one account off my husbands. I know they didn't investigate anything, because every other CRA has/had deleted these items on both our reports. Only my Equifax remains. I brought this to her attention, but 'that was impossible that an investiagtion wasn't done'. OK?! Any suggestions where to head now. I wouldn't be so mad if they had actual investigated this. Of course if they had it would have all been deleted Thanks, Becky
For those account that were previously deleted, and now have reappeared, I assume they did not send you notice of the reinsertions. For that, you may have to threaten legal action unless you can get someone to comply with the law when you write them and REMIND them of the obligations under the FCRA. 3) in ch 7, '95. Never on report before. Account was sold in June, 02. Was reporting as R9. They deleted it on my husbands & reported it as being in BK 7 on mine. This looks like they tried to sell it at the last minute to reage it. Send validation to the 'buyer'.
I agree with QueenBee. It also helps to keep at them. I just had an account that was deleted before reappearing without notice. Equifax told me "they weren't reponsible for OC's/CA's doing that". However, I bugged them about the 5 day thing - and they DID delete it again. But I had to bug them about it with a few phone calls. I think there might be some good letters online here to send to them about this. Firm, "I mean business ones" that you will sue if necessary. Mommy2cats
Thanks. I will try what you suggested. It is so ridiculus to have to go through this for an account from 7 years ago excused in a BK7 for $49.
