I have a "hard" copy of my TU report dated 4 days ago. It shows my score as 579. I pulled an online copy of TU today, IDENTICAL report as my hard copy. No changes, no inquiries ~~NADA~~ it shows my score as 514. I have no clue how that happened. Either the hard copy or online copy is lying. Regardless...I'm pissed at them. They are refusing to respond to me. I guess we are heading for a jury trial federal court battle. They will regret not wanting to settle for a miniscule amount of money when they get hit for $50K in damages + attorney's fees etc. All I'm wanting is $1500-$2000 from them + deletions. Bunch of MORONS!!! Ok, you can tell I'm not happy huh? Sorry to keep rambling. Anyone have any information about their TU lawsuits they can or will share?
Christi, I had a similar experience, and an even worse one, had ten inquiries removed, NO other changes and score went down 20 points. The real issue is that the score given to you by TU is complete and total bunk. I had real FICO scores done before and after the inquiries were removed and my score actually went up 18 points. Note that Experian and Equifax both show a score and tell you what it means, where you rank etc... TU gives no insight whatsover as to the meaning of their score.
While digging through my TU file I just found some interesting information. I have two different TU file numbers. HMMMMMMMMMM
LKH is right- TU score is a complete fraud... My TU score is 400 something (awful) and my experian score is 598... its a joke. I mean, how are these people calculating scores... Hello, the rest of the world has moved beyond the abacus!
So let's add this up - looking at the last days posts I find the following people have had the same experience with TUs so called "credit score"... Christi, wolverine, brad, whyspers, LKH, tlcampbe and kit (me)... and I'm sure I am missing alot, any others care to add your handle here? What gets me is that any of us actually pay to see these fake numbers!
The only solace I have is that I never pay to see it. The only way to guage your fico score on TU is to put the report up against a scored EQ report.
Count me in too for being confused by TU. My score went down 11 points in 1 week... don't know why. My hubby's stayed the same. Ozzy.
It's worth what I pay for them (EXPERIAN, TRANS UNION)...NOTHING...except I don't like to pay $12.95 for EQUIFAX...but I can't get the score with-out paying the $12.95.
Add me to that every growing list also. On january 5th my TU score was 645. I pulled my report today and it is down to 631. Since then I have refinanced my mtg. paid off a second mtg, paid off a personal loan, reduced my credit card debt tremendously and paid off an auto loan. So why has it gone DOWN???? What a-holes! And to think that there is little you can do about the score itself! What a stupid system for evaluating one's credit worthiness.
Christi, How's this for Trans Union progress: July 2001 -32 negatives -10 postives -09 inquires -Score 504 February 2002 -20 negatives -11 positves -08 inquiries -Score...<<drumroll>>...482! the past seven months of work have really had a bg impact on my score, just not in the direction I had planned...
