Everything I dispute via CE comes back verified. I just got another one today. I disputed an account showing up twice and they told me it was verified?? It is the exact same account number at the one below?? How can they not see that?? Are they even looking at them? If I can't get CE to delete how am I suppose to get Equifax? This is really frustrating, especially when others are having an easy time getting stuff deleted. While others can get major defaults or negatives deleted I can't even get something as simple as a duplicate account deleted...
It takes patience. Hard I know! Like trying to quit smoking. Look at Christie's success! She was also frustrated and ready to give up. Take some time for yourself then start again. I am back to disputing after a few weeks of mental leave. Keep reading the board for inspiration
I disputed for the first time about 1 1/2 yrs ago. Everything came back as verified. It discouraged me and I quit (that's exactly what the CRA's wanted me to do). Well I came back recently with a new attitude. I am determined to win even it means going to court. I disputed for the second time recently and got great results. Hang in there
CRAs are like HMOs. Years ago when I used to work for an HMO, I overheard a CSR asking a supervisor is she should advise the member to dispute the claims denial. The supervisor shrugged & said, "[name of company] will pay almost any claim if they cry loud enough." Take a step back, re-evaluate your strategy, and go for it again. Remember CreditExpert's primary role is to provide you the score. Perhaps disputing by mail with Experian directly will be more fruitful.
You have a duplicate. CE won't budge? Go after the original creditor and threaten them with a lawsuit for furnishing duplicate information. You could have damages if the account duplicated has any negatives and you've either been turned down for credit or have received terms on other credit that is less favorable than what you otherwise would have received. Before creditexpert came along, you had 2 choices for disputes, by phone or mail. I always sent mine certified mail, r/r/r and for the most part, had excellent results. By the time CE came along, I was almost done with my disputing. But, when I did use them, I had great results,(until I sued them lol). Now when I use CE to dispute inquiries, it takes the whole 30 days instead of a week like it used to take. If you are just getting started, my suggestion is to dispute by certifiied mail. Then if necessary, you have your paper trail and proof that you tried to clear up the mistakes per the rules, but they won't follow the rules.
Try this, call the CRA directly and speak to a live person. Do it the first moment they are opened. (May mean less of a wait time) Explain that there are duplicated entries on your report. I too had duplicates, it took two cracks before the items were correctly entered. Best regards, Mirage
