How does compliants to the FTC work? Do they really try to help you of do you get lost in the paperwork shuffle? Can I expect a response back?

I have filed complaints (two) with the FTC and never received any response from them. Not even a letter confirming or summarizing my complaint. Maybe others have had some luck!

I cc all of my letters (sent and received) to the FTC regarding the id theft fraud account I am trying to get rid of.

I haven't received much in response regarding my personal case. Nor do I expect much in personal response.

My hope is that my infomation will be on file with the FTC to provide them with evidence of trends and tendencies of companies who are violating consumers' laws. I do not expect them to contact the offending creditors or anything like that.

However, I seem to be getting more of a response (albiet slow) regarding the fraudulent account from the Comptroller of the Currency and the Governor's Office of Consumer Affairs.
