I talked to a rep from both my cards, who said they will not do hardship anymore.

They both pushed me to call CCCS. They said that is the only way they will reduce APRs back to normal, lower payments, and waive any fees or reporting.

As some of you may know, some CCCS services allow you to keep one card open for an emergency. HOWEVER, every CCCS I called said if you include Bank One/FUSA card(s) in the program, those banks will NOT permit you to leave ANYTHING open, not even a Swiss Colony account.

In other words, FUSA and BankOne couldn't give a rat's behind about anyone. Nice to know.

I just got on the Firstusa hardship program and just made my first payment about a week ago. I have three cards with them and got all of them on the hardship program.

I did not see the previous post by you, so do not know your circumstances. I am guessing that your problem may be one of two things: first, you have not been in default long enough yet. Second, you are talking to the wrong people.

Before I finally got on the program, I got exactly the same info you say you got. I was 90 - 120 days late on all three cards. If you are at least 60 days late, I think you qualify. If so, let me know, and I will dig out my file with the correct phone number to call. Of all my cards in default, they were the easiest to deal with once I got the right person. They are very flexible.

I also got into the MBNA, Merrick bank, and Citi hardship programs. If you need info on those, I have it.
