It never seems to end with First USA - does it?
After three weeks of application review - I was approved (see previous posts if interested re the grueling process) for a nice cl - 12K - and good terms.
(Yes - I was warned about them - but I didn't listen - a problem a seem to have from my childhood - but that's another story.)
Anyhoo ---- a week goes by - no card.
10 days go by - no card.
2 weeks go by - no card.

I call Fusa - they say they sent the card out on June 25.
    they don't know what happened.
They'll cancel the card - (if it comes - don't use it) and will send out a new one - new cc number - in 5 to 7 days.
    Jeez!
(Saar - you can wipe that smirk off your face right now! :)

    Bummer! :-(

You should of requested that they send the second card via some carrier like Fed Ex, UPS, etc. to ensure that you receive it. They would of probably charged you extra for that.

call the card security dept and their number is 800-686-5657. My brother got approved for Cash Rewards Card and they send him a letter to verify recent activity and confirm procession of the card. Did you get this letter? He called them and they told him they send the card on June28. He got the card last week. I think you should call them and block the account. They need to reissue new card.

    MP -
Yeah- they said they could send it Express Mail - but i'd have to be home to receive it - but I work - so that wasn't an option - plus I figured they'd cahrge mev for the express thing - so I told them to send it regualr mail and that i'll pray.

    Ron -
i received the letter from customer security a few days ago - which basically said we value you as a customer blablabla - and you should have received your card - so why don't you go ahead and activate it - and if you HAVEN"T received the card - call us!
I called - they said let's wait two more days - and - yesterday evening - called again - and they said they'll cancel the card and send another.
It might just be mail problem - or it got lost or stolen or whatever - but - after hearing all the "wonderful' stories about fusa - everything seems like a conspiracy now - and i'm on pins and needles and Prozac.
(okay- i was joking about the Prozac - not that there's anyrhing wrong with that :)

    Mark_LA,

They asked my brother to activate the card and my brother told them he hasn't received the card and don't want to activate. By the way, the letter didn't say about the value customer. The letter said:

We routinely review account activity in an effort to minimize fraud stemming from the potiential loss or theft of your credit card.

Please call us immediately at 1-800-686-5657 to verify the recent transactions and confirm the possession of your credit card. We are available to assit you 24 hours a day,7 days a week.
We thank you for your assistance and regret any inconvience caused by our fraud prevention efforts. Please disregard this letter if you have previously spoken to us concerning this issue.

    Sincerely,

    Customer Security Operations.

They send him that letter and the upper hand corner has the last four digit of the card number.

    Ron.

    Ron -
Are you saying that your brother didn't get the "we value you as customer" letter???? I'm shocked and saddened :)

This letter was different - and it came from the "Customer Security Dept"
they also had the last four numbers of the card I never received on top.

in any case - I'm gonna wait and see how long the 'new" replacement card takes to arrive.
Also - the wary fox that i am - i mentioned to them that i did a bt with the application - that already went through - so in a few weeks I'm going to owe them a payment. i want to make sure I'm not late - heaven forbid - for a payment - even tho my card hasn't arrived yet. Cuz from what i've heard Fusa just LOVES them late fees.
The rep assured me that the payment is only due in about a month from now and that I'll have my card WAY b4 that.
    Let's hope.

    Mark_LA,

No, he didn't get the same letter as you did. He didn't have BT on his new card. By the way, he get the pre-select offers from Bank One/Fist USA. I also have three First USA Bank credit card and I paid on-line for last three years. As soon as the statement ended, I paid it on-line. So First USA can't charge me any late fee.

    Excruciatingly Exciting UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!

First USA ntoified me today that the original card that i never received has been cancelled - and a NEW one was sent out yesterday July 9.
"You should get in with 5 to 7 days" proclaimed the cs rep curtly.

Well, that's what you said last time, and it didn't happen - did it - I thought to myself - but did not say - because i'm a kind, understanding and compassionate person.

Just SEND me the darn card - my kids need to eat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Fusa - The Nightmare Continues!

It's been eight days since First USA supposedly sent out a new card to replace the first new card I never received. it's been over a month since I applied and was approved.
Citibank - card arrived after 3 days
Amex - card arrived after 4 days
has anyone else with FUSA had the same experience - are they as slow as molasses with everyone?

    breeze-
yup - did that - a few times - had them read it back to me - the whole nine yards.
If it wasn't for the high starting cl (12K) and the low terms (2.9% first 6 mos - 9.74% ongoing after that - avg daily balance) I'd wait for the card patiently and cancel it when it arrives - but i'm not that strong :(
