The ongoing, somewhat tedious but always fascinating First USA application/remorse/i-shouldn't-have-but-what-the-hell SAGA UPDATE!!! (for previous episodes see FIRST USA update 1 through 4 ON THIS BOARD!!!) It's been 16 days and three hours since i applied and NOTHING campares to FIRST USA (close up - face - tears - b/w video) Have spoken to HUNDREDS (okay maybe ten, twenty) first usa reps. After sending in the verification (phone bill, gas bill, 2nd grade report card) over two weeks ago - the infamous Readers Digest Plat MC application remains in agonizing LIMBO. Tried to CANCEL the application (Saar convinced me - bless his heart) but FUSA says: you can check out whenever you want but you can never leave - we don't CANCEL applications - harumph!!! Anyhoo - for the past two weeks - the application is PENDING (they SWEAR) we'll notify you within 30 days of your application (which is 14 more days - OH THE AGONY!!!) I just want them to DENY me already so i can GET ON WITH MY LIFE! (if anyone says DRAMA QUEEN - i'm gonna kick their BUTT) And thank you for listening. and caring (choke)

Mark LA, I applied to a preapproved(they kept sending me many preappoved offers) offer two weeks ago-it was for their bank One platinum free cash rewards card(I know a lot of people have difficulties with them but my wife has been an account holder with them for more than 10 years and we have never had any problems--knock on wood). I applied on a FRiday over the telephone and I called on Tuesday and was already told I was approved--I was approved for $25,000.00. I also read more about Bank One and saw there Prime for life card(4.75 apr)--$95.00 annual fee--two cycle average daily balance method(I would prefer the standard method but at 4.75 it must be pretty good). On Wednesday, I applied on their website for the prime for life card--it took two weeks-I just found out two days ago and I was approved for $25,000.00 also. Immediately when I fould out I asked the rep. I wanted to consolidate my credit lines into one credit line and she said please hold because I have to get an approval if the consolidation is more that $35,000.00. Two minutes later she comes back on the line and she said it was approved--So now I have one prime for life card at $50,000.00 credit limit. I'm pretty happy right now.Bank One pulled Experian both times on my applications--I'm from Texas--Good Luck!! Just waiting for my card now.. Oh, BTW, my scores on credit expert were 762 and 758 after the inquiries..
CONGRATS MARC Great scores - mine was 695 on Ex - that's where they checked for me. I think part of the delay is "processing" the verification docs - one of the reps said they're "bogged down" in that dept. At this point I'm really not going to bothered at all if i'm denied - see orig post - i just HATE not knowing
