I have six or seven gas cards which I haven't used in years. Since I use Chase Perfectcard for all my gas
now, is there any reason I can't cancel these gas cards without hurting my credit scores?

Depends on the age of your accts. If you close them, and they are the oldest tradelines on your report, the average age of your accts will decrease, which will most likely lower your score. You could close a couple, see what the result is, then decide on whether to close all of them, close a few more etc.

Yeah, what LKH said. I'd close down maybe 1 or 2 at a time and start with the newest accts first. After it's all said and done, I might would still keep 2 of the oldest.
