Hi all, I am new to the boards and I am looking to gather information to send in with my dispute to the CRAs.

I have to file a few disputes b/c my dad has the same name as me and a few of his stuff fell on my report.

    I have a few questions:

How can I dispute a Tax Lein? I got original copies from the Court House (public records), will they do?

I have a collection from "Credit Protection Associates", who are they and how do I contact them to see what this issue is about?

I got all 3 credit reports from "Credit Expert", I know the score is junk, but are the listings in the reports accurate?

Can I dispute my name and address on a report?

For a credit card, if I just do a basic dispute and the SSNs don't match, I should be ok? I shouldn't need to gather more info, right?

Sorry for the newbish questions, but I am right out of college and I just got hit with this info.. trying to get a car loan...

Any additional tips or tricks would be great!

    Thanks

    Rictor

1*Get any addresses in connection with the Lien removed from your reports then dispute with CRA as not mine.
*Don't send these to the CRAs.
2*They are a collection agency. Send them the VL by CRRR. Don't get on the phone with them.
3*You need all 3 reports from each separate CRA.
    4*See #1
5*If the name and address match it don't matter about the SSN.

Never read the fine print. There ain't no way you're going to like it.

Re: Re: Gathering info for a dispute.

if you dispute the acct with the CRA and the ss# don't match the acct should be deleted.

In some cases the CRA don't actually investigate the dispute as they say and claim it was verified through address & name if thats the case and the acct remains the CRA is violating the FCRA.( u can sue)

also you would need to contact the CA reporting the acct to dispute their TL and request that they verify all your identifing info along with full validation.

DO NOT under any circumstances give the CA your personal ID info they should already have it if it's ligitimate.

is there a fraud issue with any of the accts on your report if so you need to notify the CRA of this and add the alert to your report.

also advise any creditors or CA of this matter to protect yourself.
