    Here we go again!
I had a Montgomery Ward Mastercard account issued by GE Card Services a/k/a GE Capital. The account was discharged in BK in Feb. 1998. I just found out that GE Capital sold the account one year later to Direct Consumers Credit Card Bank. GE Capital has no record anywhere of my old MW GE Mastercard account and DCCB refuses to remove its entries from my credit card reports.

It seems that banks love to sell off their discharged bankrupt accounts to other banks to recover their losses from the bankruptcy discharges.

What options do I have here?

This is an attempt to collect on the account by selling it to a collection agency - it is a direct violation of the AUTOMATIC STAY and of the DISCHARGE ORDER for your bankruptcy. Send copies of both these documents indicating the filing date to both GE Capital and to the collection agency certified mail/return receipt with a CC to the Bankruptcy Court Trustee in the district you filed in.
