I'm going to call to see if I got approved when I go back to the office--however--I've got two outstanding offers from Discover and MBNA for 0% BT offers (July for MBNA, Sep for Discover)...

One could BT whatever over to Generations Bank card--and then BT it right off the next month--no fuss, no muss, higher limit, payoff the first month....

    Anyone ever done this?

    Cheers,

    David

(don't know what I'm talking about....I probably didn't even get the card)

or one step further, can one bt over balances from a friends account. And have him bt from generations the next month.

I already replied to this once, but my post disappeared!

I did this when I first got the card. I did the bt so I could get the higher limit. But I had better bt offers, so I did a bt account off my generations account after the bt to the account posted.

I already replied to this too!!!

You can try it. My fiance and I bt back and forth across our cards.

However, there is something strange about generations and bts. When I first opened my account I had a strange thing happen. I wanted to bt from my Amex account, but the actual balance was higher than what was on my credit report. Generations would not transfer more than was was reported unless I faxed them my Amex statement showing that I really owed more. They would only transfer based on what was on my report.

I have NEVER had problems doing a BT for MORE than I owed on an account!!!
...Accounts can be 6 months outdated...so it has NOTHING to do with todays balance of the credit report...

I agree, and I have never had an issue doing it with any other credit cards.

Oh well....I called...didn't get the card anyway....and (here's the good part)--I don't care....don't even care why (part of the healing process I suppose)...when the rep said "it was declined", I almost (but not quite) felt relieved....

And, just for spite--I'll remember to reapply in a year, and decline them--just for spite--no other reason....

    Cheers,

    David
