I had a lien placed on my CR in Oct. 2004. I have had a payment plan for taxes since before the lien was filed. I was told by the revenue agent that it would not appear on my credit report because I was paying the debt...however the lien is there!

It is paid off. I am also waiting for the release information from the court. I called today, and it still was not listed as being paid.

    1. Where do I go from here?
    2. Who do I contact first and what do I tell them? I contacted TU and explained that I had a payment plan and that this was a mistake on the revenue office's behalf. I see now that this could be a mistake to admit that I owed anything. I am currently waiting out my 30 days.
    3. When I dispute, do I just say that the lien is not mine?
    4. I have fought so much with the tax office in order to get the paperwork started for my payment plan, that I am sure their information they won't be of any help. AM I JUST AT THE MERCY OF THE CRU?
