I posted earlier about trying to get 0% offer. My card was going from 5.9% to 12.9%. Although I had been turned down in Jan & Feb. of this yr. for a 0% offer I decided to call the retention dept. I spoke with rep and he offered me 0% offer on my current balance for 6 mos. I did not get a hard inquiry on my credit report either. So folks...pick up the phone and ask for a better deal.
I want to know how you have a 780 score with 80% utilization thats almost to good to be true..........
The card was my discover card. Call their 1-800 number and ask for the retention department. My TU score is 789 with no lates or derogs on any my reports now. My oldest tradeline is 11 years old.

Re: Re: Get that 0% offer now!!! George, I am not a new customer. I've had the Discover card (not platinum) about 15 mos. now. My intro. rate was 0% for BT for 6 mos. then it went to 5.9% which expires this month. So I called cs dept., who transferred me to retention dept. I told them that I had other 0% BT offers, but I would like to keep my balance/acct. with them. The retention dept. offers to lower my rate on current acct. balance to 0% for 6 mos. I called and asked to get 0% offer a few months earlier and they said no. So, you maybe their policies have changed since that time. Anyway, for 5 minutes of your time, it never hurts to ask for a better deal.
