There were some other people that wanted a BUY LOCAL DAY...MAYBE THAT IS THE REASON FOR THE OTHER LOONS???

They didn't even want "YOU" to buy LOCAL or OUT OF STATE (like WAL*MART-TARGET-SEARS-JC PENNEYS-ETC)

I bought most of my gifts today using my laptop and my Quicken Master Card sitting on my sofa watching the news of people trampling one another in the store

November 29th 2003 is Buy Nothing Day (UK), the self proclaimed festival of frugal living and culture jammers jamboree. It's a day where you challenge yourself, your family and friends to switch off from shopping and tune into life. Celebrated as a holiday by some, a street party by others - anyone can take part provided they spend a day without spending!

    UNITED KINGDOM

I THOUGHT THIS WAS THE STATES--NOT UK???

Ahh, but George, the world is a global economy now. Google "Buy Nothing Day", some claim it originated in the Pacific Northwest.

    Figures...

I bought two free paper shredders (after rebate) this am at staples:
    http://www.staples.com/Catalog/Browse/Sku.asp?PageType=1&Sku=519618

One for me, and one for a gift......made dh come with me this am so we each got one.

You know, that doesn't make any sense about the NO SHOPPING Day being for frugal people. Some of the best deals are the day after Thanksgiving. If you were a frugal person and needed something, gift or personal use, now would have been a great day to buy.

For any cheapskates at heart, I recommend this site:

Because the Fri., after Thanksgiving is called "Black Friday". It's the single biggest shopping day of the entire year. This is the day that shoppers are expected to put all the retailers "back in the black".

The "loons" are the people who hate this country, and want the financial recovery to collapse. The LOOSERS of "lifes lottery". LOL

Course I've never bothered to tell them the harder I work the luckyer I get. Wouldn't do any good anyway. :)

Results are in; Black Friday sold 1.53 BILLION dollars in ONE day. This is one hundred million MORE than the black Fri., of last year.

    The Loons [loosers] lost!

    lol
