Wow, Providian/ Getsmart sent me a convenience check to take advantage of their 12.9% offer good until August. Lets see, thats 12.9 on a card that has been collecting lint for over a year now, going to 16.9 in 3 months. What a deal....
My Providian cards have had a zero balance and no use since January. Every month I send them a planetfeedback letter telling them to improve the terms or stay at zero for another month. Every month they send me a letter (via UPS!) telling me I have the best terms they offer. It's getting to be an end-of-month ritual I look forward to.
I'm thinking of closing my Getsmart card too... 16.9 is the best they can offer me - they told me I need to use the card more to get a better rate.. well why use the card if they don't offer me a better rate?? Plus they keep doing ARs on me...that annoys me - the prime cards I have don't do ARs on me like Providian does.. sheesh. Ozzy.
WHY DO THEY ADVERTISE THE 9.99% GET SMART CARD WHEN THEY TELL YOU 16.9% IS THE BEST...ARE YOU BEING LIED TO??? COULDN'T HURT TO ASK THEM...
