I just have a general question.I have never had a credit card in my life and I'm trying to get one mostly for emergency purposes.I applied for 2 different one hoping well at least i might get approved for at least one,Was that a good idea or should i only apply for one at a time and wait to see what happens.I don't have bad credit I just don;t have any.

get a secured card, you have a bank? Get a secured account. Credit cards from my credit union come in secured, normal, platinum.

after 3 months of that card, payments in full each month.

get a federated (macy/richs/lazarus/bloomies) card, have phone in your name (try now)

in 9-12 months you'll have platinum level score if you dont screw up.

it takes time, but if you can't get a platinum card in 9-12 months then you aren't trying.

took my girl 2.5 years to go from $500 secured to $100K+ in credit cards alone. werd.

There's a plan you follow it, and dont deviate much and you will get what you want.

Follow the Sam´s advice. I also started out that way. The phone number in your name is very important.

I only would like to add that Mobil or JC Penney are easy cards to get at the 3 months mark. But Do not keep too many stores cards(2-3 max) or apply for subprime banks like Orchard or Crapital One.

At the six months mark you could apply for Delta Optima or Starwood Amex card.

You will begin to received many pre-selected or pre-approved credit cards offer in the mail. Apply only when you see a good offer and ignore Discover (the will denied you).
