If they don't or cant validate, then do I re-dispute the item in question with the cra???

Have you ever had a cra NOT delete even though the ca didn't verify to YOU but verified to the cra?

If a Ca does this it is a more serious will full violation.

Had thoughts on sending estoppel for paid collection accounts. Should I request validation first? Or should I combo the setoppel with validation? Just need some pointers to make sure I handle this right.

Specifically what FDCPA is this? I sent verification on January 24, 2003 and until I sent a val/estoppell with a plaintiff statement to the paid CA, did they send a response requesting more information. The letter dated is Feb 24, 2003. Should I call the CRA and have them send me the dates that the verifcation came back to them from this ca.

Yes, do a procedural request. OR you can re-dispute it basically stating that the ca was unable to verify and how the hell did they verify when the ca couldnt do so.

Procedural request will take longer, but it will give you all the contact info. Of course, if it is tu, all they give you is the contact address.

If you re-dispute and send a copy of the info you received from ca, make sure you indicate to the cra that you noted the account information properly and received a repsonse requesting more info. Since there is no other info you can provide, it cannot be validated. (assuming you noted all identifying info...acct #, etc, which Im sure you did). You should get your deletion. If they dont delete, notify them they are entering the willful and knowing zone and get em for violations.
