Getting closed accounts Deleted??

I am not sure if it is even possible but I dont see why not. My wife has like 7 or 8 accounts that she has closed in the last 2-4 yrs. The question I have is...who or how can we go about getting these removed early. I realize they can stay on for 7 yrs, but some of these closed accounts are 4 yrs old. They are all legit so I hate to dispute as not mine. So if you know of any ingenious ways to get these removed. I would greatly appreciate it. She has excellent credit already but mine is somewhat crazy. I figured if we can do everything to get the best points for her then we are doing good.

Hmm, maybe that is why HIS credit report is somewhat crazy? lol

Just confirming what has been said above ... don't remove positive closed accounts. One of the parameters within FICO scoring has to do with lthe length credit history and another with the number of positive trade lines.

It's not disclosed anywhere how important these are but they will help your FICO score if you have longer positive credit history and more positive credit lines.

At some point I think too many credit lines will hurt you but if you don't have that many there is no reason to delete a good credit line.

Thanks guys for all the good info. No my wife's credit is great. It was just that she would get those 10% credit cards at the dept stores and then a month pay them off and close the account. She had a few of those, but we longer do that foolish thing anymore. I was just curious, here credit report just has a lot of deadweight but no missed tradelines or any derogatories.

    Thanks again

After 7-10 years...they will start to DISAPPEAR on their own...if you only have current accounts that have been open for a couple of months to a couple of years...YOU WILL TAKE A "HIT" WHEN THEY START DROPPING OFF ON THEIR OWN...SO WHY HELP IT ALONG???

So if I understand correctly...even CLOSED accounts help out with your average-age status?

George what about a cc opened just to combine with another card to increase credit limit quickly, I have a lot of new tls and would like to delete those kept open for 1-4 mos. I didn't want to have too many new tls.

1-4 months old (BDD) wouldn't be a problem to make GONE...

I'm talking 3+ years (CLOSED)...DON'T MAKE THEM GONE...
