I have been working on my credit reports for 9 months now, and I probably made errors in how I went about it, not knowing about the help that was available on the board. Guess it's better late than never to seek assistance in trying to get what's there accurately reported. I have basically claimed all these entries as mine, so I guess I have to go from where I'm at now, rather than having regrets and getting all bummed out about not knowing what I was doing. I definitely need some additional advice.I have 11 negative entries, almost all due to Chap13 Bk in 96. There are inaccuracies that I have disputed on line and in a written letter. And they are still there. I have the entries from Credit Expert all in a tidy Excel spreadsheet . Would it be possible to email the Spreadsheet to a few of the members that have been doing this a long time? I know that there might be a way to do this, but I don't know how? I would really appreciate and value the feedback. I have included all the lines of inform. I've even included a row for the Member feedback. I don't mind anyone seeing the dollars and the companies. I declared a CH13 in June of '96, discharged in '2000. Maybe getting these final corrections wouldn't help that much, but I would like someone with knowledge and expertise to see if it is something that I should pursue. Thanks, Ms. Texas
Requesting Expert Help So y'all don't think I was totally a goof, I also should probably say that I did get several accounts completely deleted, but some of the ones that I disputed were verified, and they still have inaccuracies. I am just too much of a newbie to know how much of a difference this makes. Most of these BK entries will fall off next summer. ???? I have been viewing the board for three or four weeks consistently, and I have been clicking and viewing a lot of topics, trying to educate myself as to how to proceed. I want to say thanks in advance to anyone who might be willing to take the time to get into some nitty gritty details on these entries. TX MS.
Re: Member Rview?/ Excel 95file avai sc4173, Are the inaccuracies within the accounts that were included in the bankruptcy? Or are they (the inaccuracies) other accounts you have on your report that are not included? And exactly what type of inaccurate info. are we talking about here? You say you filed in 6/96, would you happen to still be in touch with the attorney you used back then?
thanks for helping !! here's detail Sorry this is long, but I think you can give me the most assistance if I am totally accurate with the entries and concerns. Here is the letter I sent Letter sent to Experian 3-17-2002. ( Had previously disputed many entries on line, with some deletions, and some corrections.) Again, I was a dummy and didn't know better than to be upfront and perfectly honest in trying to get the entries to match the 13 BK paperwork on the original filing and the paperwork on the BK payments and discharge. Contents of letter: "Please correct the inaccurate information listed in my credit report with your agency. The following items have inaccurate information, please see attached enclosures. (I guess I was a dummy, but for documentation and to show them I wasn't filing frivolous disputes, I included in the mailing the original filing documents for Chap13 BK and the Ch13 BK discharge documents.) I expect that these inaccuracies will be corrected or removed from my credit report within the next thirty days. If the inaccuracies are not corrected or the incorrect information deleted , I would like to have the name and address of the verifying contact person , with his or her title, for the accounts and entries in question. PLEASE REVIEW AND CORRECT THE ENCLOSED ITEMS: 1. Legal name is xxx. this is not a nickname. It is my legal name Have not used â??xxxâ? to either open or maintain any sort of financial account â??xxxâ? IS NOT my legal name. â??xxxâ? IS my legal name. 2. Delete Cincinnati, Ohio as known address. Have never lived outside of Texas. 3. MBNA America Bank â??xxx -Incorrect listing on bankruptcy type and dates of filing and discharge. Not a 7, not 11, not a 12 Bankruptcy. TYPE OF BANKRUPTCY and DATES of FILING and DATE of DISCHARGE MUST BE LISTED CORRECTLY per court documentation. Case number xxx, xxx District of Texas, Chapter 13 filed 6/1996, discharged 12/00 4. xxxx Credit Union, Account xxx- Incorrect monthly payment, incorrect recent balance as of 3/2001, and dates of Bankruptcy are listed incorrectly Monthly payment is zero Monthly balance is zero, not $784 Monthly balance has been zero since December â??2000 when Bankruptcy discharged Case number xxx, xxx District of Texas, Chapter 13 filed 6/1996, discharged 12/00 5. ANBCC- Account xxx- Amount of $5259 as past due is incorrect, Zero Balance date is incorrect, and Incorrect dates for Bankruptcy filing and discharge Status shows $5259 as past due. This is incorrect. There is zero $$ past due. Recent Balance shows $0 as of 8/2001. There has been a zero balance since the Bankruptcy was discharged on December â??2000. Bankruptcy dates of filing and discharge are incorrect. Case number xxx, xxx District of Texas, Chapter 13 filed 6/1996, discharged 12/00. 6. Fifth Third Bank â?? XXX-Bankruptcy type incorrectly listed. Dates of filing and discharge also incorrect. Account history incorrectly shows a 7, 11, or 12 Bankruptcy filing. Dates are incorrect, shows filed 12/01/2000 and discharged 1/31/2002 Case number XXX, xxxDistrict of Texas, Chapter 13 filed 6/1996, discharged 12/00 signed, xxx social security xxx end of letter" This is what I am left with as an example. Experian has on CE as if 5/11/02: Inaccuracies on ANBCC- Amount of $5259 as past due is incorrect, : Was orig. shown as ACCT charged off.$6,333 written off. $5,259 past due as of 8-2001. I disputed this online as inaccurate, acct included in Chap 13 Bk. It also had past due balance of $5259 shown. Nothing changed, so I wrote letter. As result of letter, they added 13BK, but did not delete notation as chargeoff or writeoff. ???? I also disputed incorrect status of past due XXX as of 8/2001 in written letter. This is inaccurate because BK was discharged 12/2000. Sent them copies of orig papers and discharge. I wrote up a statement with info about inaccuracies on line relataed to the row of Account History entries being inaccurate and they put in their statement. How can they show all these dates? I would think they shouldn't show any dates past due past the BK filing in June of 1996? How can they substitute their "blanket statement" for my 100 word statement? I think the report from ANBCC is hurting me because CE shows me as having an amount past due that is the same as this amount of $5259. Credit Union, Account xxx- incorrect recent balance listed as 3/2001, and dates of Bankruptcy are listed incorrectly and shows recent balance as $784 Monthly balance has been zero since December â??2000 when Bankruptcy discharged I think 5th Third Bank is hurting my file because it incorrectly shows an account history with " 7, 11, or 12 Bankruptcy" . they have the BK type listed inaccurately, and I have been told that this makes it look like I filed two different types of BK's within the last six years. One BK, a Chapter 13 is accurate. 95% of the issues I have with Experian, TU, and Equifax have to do with the Chap13 Bk. I asked my BK13 attorney's office what I could do, and they said they really couldn't help me with this, that if I sent the CRA the original paperwork and the discharge, they should report it correctly. (and remember, I haven't paid them any additional monies since the filing in summer of '96, so I understand their point in not offerring their resources. ) There are several entries similar to the above inaccuracies on each of the reports, though they vary from report to report. Some items have been updated or deleted. Some have not. And the letters that I wrote to each vary in content based on the reports pulled and what I received in mail or online. I know these entries will all fall away in spring of '2003, but I am getting hammered now on my car insurance and house insurance. It is 40% higher since Farmers Insurance began mypulling credit reports in Spring of '2001. prior to that, I was in midrange company, now I am in the high cost company. Any suggestions on what to do next. I am not trying to scam the system, I just want what the CRA to be accurate. Thanks
Re: thanks for helping !! here's detail Your atty gave you worst advice he could. You should thank him for screwing you up. As far as the accts that are reporting the incorrect type of bk, I would dispute them as "never filed chapter 7, 11 etc. bk. - please delete" I'll reread the info again and reply with some more suggestions. PS - to everybody out there NEVER, EVER send the cra's bk papers or any other papers that can hurt you.
Re: thanks for helping !! here's detail thank you for your assistance. I know I am stuck with my mistake of sending too much information to the CRA. I hope viewing this will help alert others not to repeat the same mistake. In all honesty, the information's easier to view in my little Excel spread sheet, since the columns match the CRA entries, with my disputes below.] if there's a way to email it directly to you, let me know how. it doesn't contain any private information. it's just easier to read than all the verbiage above. Thank you, again, for your time.
