How do I get this off my credit? I did this a year ago because the credit bureaus said it was the only way to get the identity theft off my reports. The only thing it has done is block me from accessing my credit report online and disputing online.

Here is a sample letter I am thinking of sending:

    Dear Credit Bureaus,

While I thank you for placing the fraud alert in my credit file- it seems it is making the corrections of the errors I have found reported in my credit files more difficult rather than easier like you claimed it would be. I am having monumental trials trying to access credit reports online to ensure their accuracy. And I am not able to dispute information online which makes the whole situation more difficult for me.

There has been no new fraud in my file for over a year and the perpetrators of the fraud go to trial next month. I feel confident that at this time the fraud statement is doing me much more harm than good.

Please delete the fraud statement and unblock my credit file within thirty days of your receipt of this letter.

MORE HARM THAN GOOD, SOUNDS RIGHT.
