Getting ready to pay that judgment

It has been a while since I was on the site last. I felt somewhat defeated and just bided my time until I had the money to pay for the Judgment a particular creditor gained against me. I have a new question though-

If I am able to pay the full amount of the judgment in one payment, will it then be closed, or will they be able to keep it going for 10 years I guess in some of my reading I got that part somewhat confused.

I have learned with other creditors to get statements from them that the accounts were paid, because it seems to be a common practice for other junk debt buyers to buy these accounts and contact you again to pay the bill. Then they treat you as if you are lying when you say you paid through another agency.

I am really relieved about getting this payed off. After this I have no credit cards to speak of, and can maybe come on here to ask questions on getting my credit on track again so that I might able to actually look into buying a home......

Get an Notice of Satisfaction from the Court. A junk debt purchaser cannot buy a paid judgment. It will remain on your reports for ten-years from the date it was filed now that it is paid. Unpaid can stay forever.

Just wondering why you are paying it? What do you have to gain/loose? Have you tried to negotiate any terms and conditions?
