I posted a few weeks ago but didn't get much response (probably cause I posted late Friday night and didn't bother to bump)... Anyway, here's my situation. Current scores are: TU: 702 EQ: 664 EX: 644 I have one collection account open as unpaid that's showing up on EQ and EX. I also have several student loans that show up under derogatory from 3/1998 or older. The one I'd really like to attack is the Collection Account, as it's the one that's still open. One of my student loans is now paid off and I haven't been late on the others since 1998. Here's more details on my CA: Date Assigned March, 1998 Date Reported May, 1998 Amount $74 Balance $74 Balance Date May, 1998 Date Last Activity September, 1997 Collection Status Unpaid Status Date May, 1998 Experian notes that "This account is scheduled to continue on record until 9-2004." Now one last bit of info, I probably made a mistake because before I found this board, I disputed the info through Experian. The CA verified this account. As a result, they now also note "This item was verified on 7-2003 and remained unchanged." (I also disputed the student loans which were reporting $1000 past due. They updated that info but my score didn't increase.) As I'm in NJ, the SOL for all accounts is 6 years. If I'm going by the Date of Last Activity, that would be this September right? Should I wait until October then send out SOL letters to get them to delete the tradeline? Is that possible? Is the SOL based on the 1998 dates? BTW, the OC is AT&T Wireless for a pager I had. I sent my cancellation request in, then moved. Never got any mail after that, until the CA tracked me down and started sending requests. Apparently they never received the cancellation request and kept on charging me. I tried back then to dispute it, essentially saying I already cancelled it to no avail. Well, there's my story. If anyone can help out, I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks...
Anyone? BTW, I was checking my EX scores at Experian.com, but when I went with myfico.com, it came back with 652. Any advice is appreciated!
