AMEX Insurance Hi Erica! I read your post that you must have stellar credit to get AMEX car insurance. They solicited me by mail as an AMEX Cardmember. That could well be a way they have preapproved AMEX applicants. Naturally, they want current AMEX customers first. Fortunately, my driving record is perfect - and I do get preapproved auto insurance offers frequently - they are very much like credit card offers - and in all cases these offers have been preapproved by Trans Union. When AMEX was within just a few $ of my old Geico price, that's when I called Geico and they lowered me dramatically - mainly by reducing my commute miles each day - to 3 miles each way! That is correct and I have a garage at home and a garage at work in downtown SF. All of them know I am currently insured and many know when my 6 month policy goes up for renewal! c ya dogman
