    How is everyone?

    How is your credit lives?

I have off the site for a good month working like a slavehorse getting my office open.

To make this post credit related, I installed a card machine that takes MC, VS, AMEX and Debit....

Things are going very slow. I encourage all of you to ask all your friends to visit the dentist. You may not live near south jersey, but maybe the wavelengths will cause a national awareness in oral health. lol.

I have newspaper ads, etc etc and now I am offering FREE Whitening for ALL NEW PATIENTS who complete exam, xrays and cleaning.

I hope that draws in the people. I went out on foot last night and handed out over 300 flyers. I will start again on the weekend.

As far as my credit life, I have gotten behind and have made late payments. NOT 30 days late of course but I am slacking. I car payment was late this month for the first time ever. Oh well, I just paid the late fee w/ the check and kept going. I cant keep up w/personal and business.

I am having a housekeeper co. come in this week to clean my townhome. Of course my family is coming this week when I am at my most tired to see me and the office. I have to get off now and clean up before the cleaning people come. Isnt that ironic?

    Thanks for listening as always.

And if anyone has a credit issue for me that they want to add to this thread, please do so.

    Hi Roni,

Have you had a chance to become affiliated with any dental plans/hmo's in your area? I'm thinking it would help your new business if you were able to get on some of the dental plans that the major employers in your area offer to their employees.

Or perhaps you could contact the Benefits Dept. of some of the smaller companies in your area to see if you can work out a group discount plan for their employees. Maybe you could offer them 10% off of regular services and a free cleaning once a year if they enroll.

My previous employer offered the Delta Dental plan. I think you could probably get on their list of providers, and I think they have a website too.

In any event, good luck to you and your new dental office. I wish you were located here in my area! I could use the whitening, and I live out here in the sticks; there is no dentist for miles. I have to drive 50 miles to the dentist...ugghh!

    Take care,

    Hi Roni,

Congratulations on your office, I wish you were closer, I have 4 kids all needing some routine check-ups.

This is definately credit related, I've a major gripe with a local dentist that automatically set follow-up appointments, which seems like it could be a practical idea -- EXCEPT they fail to let the patients know, then charge you for missing an appointment you never scheduled or knew about :-(.

I refused to pay the charges, they sent me to a collection attorney, I paid the attorney, $400-something dollars in missed appointments!!!!!!!! Yep, that was PRE-credit-net.

THEN after paying, they entered a paid collection on my credit report, it was never there before, only AFTER I paid :-(.

Dentists deserve to be paid like everyone else, I just don't think this is the best way to get paid AND maintain a client base -- at least in this small town.

    That's my credit contribution.

Congrats again and best of luck to you!

    Sassy

That is awful what that dental office did to you. I think that was an office manager decision and not the dentist. Some consulting firm probably suggested it.

I signed up to take PPO plans for :

Delta dental, metlife, cigna dental, AETNA/UShealthcare, Prudential. Blue Cross/ Blue Shield, United Concordia and Guardian.

I signed up to be a dentist for the local teamsters

I signed up w/ 1 HMO so far (today) and will sign 1 or 2 more.....probably Delta and Guardian. I want No more than 3 HMO plans.

I signed up with one reduced fee plan insurance program-signature/ge financial and am waiting for my carreigton packet to come.

REgular no managed care insurances and cash are always welcomed though....lol

That is why I have been so busy. I have been setting up the office and setting up all these insurances plus working outside my office and still going out handing out business cards and flyers.

    thanks a bunch for listening
