GM card through(Household bank) reports my fiancee who is my authorized user, and I only had to provide just her name. It reports to all three of her credit bureau reports as an authorized user. As a matter of fact, I think hers reported slightly faster than mine, which is weird since I am the actual cardmember. I don't know why they didn't need her information, but my fiancee is a joint cardholder on my Household Bank mastercard, so that might be why they had her ssn, etc. Anyone get a chance to view the new card designs for the GM card. They look preety neat. If not go to http://www.gmcardmemberservices.com/ Click on view cards. Chase is also now offering the business card version of the GM card, and I suppose they are rolling out the new gmextended family card. I heard one can opt for cash back instead of 5% toward next new gm car purchase? I believe it is only valid to an employee, retiree family members and suppliers of Gm parts service etc. The earnings are unlimited though, but dramatically reduced. Hope this was helpful, Jeremy M.
Ahh great.. thanks for the helpful input,. I just got a platinum card although its the old version...
GM card instead of Household?! I hope someone can help with this.......I could swear I read about it here. I got a Best Buy card a couple weeks ago and on the app it asks if you want a household card. It doesn't say it's a separate app AND inq so I think, what the heck, and check yes. Afterward, thinking that was a screw up, I called them and it's too late to cancel the app on HHB (yeah right) but if I call back when I get the card, "do not activate it" and I can get it "transferred" to a GM card, which I want more anyway. I of course did not get a name and number. I get the HHB card yesterday which they graced me with a whopper of a $500 limit, with a $69 annual fee ALREADY charged to it (I haven't even activated it!!) and 17.99 apr. I called in today and of course, if I want a GM card I need to do a new app. "Ma'am I did speak to a supervisor in the credit department." I am really ticked that I could be soooooo dumb. Then I called HHB customer relations, who transfer me all over "hha" just to tell me the same thing. "Do you want me to send you a GM application?" Does anyone have any advice or know who to call or anything???? I absolutely am not paying 17.99% alongside a $69 annual fee for a $500 cl with no rewards. STUPID!
GM card instead of Household?! I have a Household Mastercard, with much better terms, but in January when I called Household for something in regard to I kept receiving new cards like every other day, and I was trying to find out whats up. Anyhow, I got in the discussion of the GM card and she was telling me, that I would have to apply separately and I couldn't consolidate or reapportion my credit line to get the GM card. She of course told me, that the gm underwriting standards are much more astringent than Households are. A day later or so, I went to the GM card homepage filled in the application, and nervously hit submit. I got an instant approved message for $4,000.00 lowest tiered interest rate offered, and the 0% BT for 6 months(which I am taking advantage of as we speak--not for any balance, but I BT the money over to my bank accounts.) I have not had a problem with the card or the bank. I am not sure if this is what you wanted to hear or not, but it appears you will have to separately apply and I am not sure how they are with multiple inquries from the same issuerer in a short period of time. Hope this helps, Jeremy M
