I literally spent the last 45 minutes on the phone with a guy from their reconsideration department. It basically came down to too many recent accounts and I would have to close a couple to, get this, get a $300 card. This is with perfect credit. Now, my recents are a heloc and some charge cards from conseco, best buy, target, and home depot. Nothing huge here. My question is- how generous is the gm card with credit limit increases? the worst thing is I just paid off and closed a $700 household mastercard and they cannot match it. Stupid stupid stupid.
Gm card is from Household Bank. I've had one for 8 months and I just tried to get a line increase this week, to no avail. They gave me a $5k starting limit, but since then all I've gotten is an interest rate deduction. If they will only give you $300, I'd pass on it, especially if you have to close any accounts that give you aging points. Have you looked at Citi bank yet? Have you tried *b* yet to get rid of some inqs?
/Yah I tried citi on another thread. I got turned down for the silver but accepted on a $1600 hold AA card. Duh. I have a reconsideration out but as I posted on another thread they said I have 2 90 day lates this year I could not possibly have. I am waiting for a call back.
Re: Re: GM card poeple- advise please That's right, I forgot, sorry. Amex Delta is one of the easier ones to get but you can't have any inquiries within the last 60 days, and must have less than 4 total inquiries. I don't have MBNA, but heard that wasn't too awfully hard. If you have perfect credit and good scores, it doesn't seem right that they are turning you down because of too many inquiries.
Re: Re: GM card poeple- advise please well darn eq just deleted all my softs so bumpage has ended. However, I have something like 79 non bumpable softs like AR and PRM so in less then 20 days I will have another chance at doing the bump. I have 5 hards left to dump.
