    Folks,

Does anyone have any experience with GMAC Mortgage?

A coworked of mine got a letter notifying her that her mortgage was sold to GMAC, office in Dallas, TX.

    Should she expect problems?

    Thanks in advance,

None that I have heard of. If you want the "dirt" on a particular company, I have always found the search engine to be especially helpful.

Try typing in the phrase "GMAC mortgage problems"

    Or maybe "GMAC mortgage lawsuit"

There is a "Bad Business Bureau" on the internet called www.ripoffreport.com This website has dirt on everyone from corporations to predatory lenders and even dead-beat dads! Although, there are dead beat mothers too just FYI...

I had them for a couple months then they sold me to countrywide. I had no problems though.

I had them the last couple of years of my home loan. Never a problem, and pretty easy to work with. Your friend shouldn't worry.

BTW - We owned our home for 8 years and were bought and our loan was bought and sold numerous times.

As silly as it sounds I not only check out the lenders that have the best rates for my clients but I check out how they service the loans. I cant list the ones that I avoid all together because they have horrible servicing..I wish I could, but who knows if they could come after me for slander.......but GMAC is actually one of the good guys.

GMAC buys most mortgages in the United stats, they are one of like 3 or 4 companies that buy them, I have never heard of GMAC giving a problem to anybody, I think our bank sells mortgagtes to them too but it still services them here at the branch

They bought my mortgage about 4 years ago. They've been fine throughout, including my 1.5 year old (so far) C13.

This is true even though I have often taken advantage of the 15-day grace, and have sometimes paid later. Never 30 days late, though.
