My recent request to GMAC for reinsertion ...

"After recent review of my credit history through: Equifax, Experian and
Transunion ... I noticed my GMAC auto loan is no longer reporting to the
credit bureaus and has since been deleted off my credit files.

I had a very positive business experience with my last GMAC auto loan and
look forward to future ventures with GMAC financing ... knowing my hard
earned credit history (as reported by GMAC to the bureaus) would have some
longevity and continue to reflect upon my future credit files.

I am very, very interested in knowing how I may have my GMAC auto loan
history reinserted into my credit files via the credit bureaus. I have
kept detailed records and am willing to provide such information should
this help to fulfill my request.

Thank you for your time, cooperation and courtesy of reply concerning this
    important matter."

Thank you for contacting GMAC Financial Services.

Account information is withdrawn from GMAC by the credit bureaus, each

credit bureaus to update your credit report. In order to correct any
errors regarding this account, please contact the credit bureaus to file a
dispute. GMAC reports to the following:

I think I'll make a call to the bureaus today explaining the information from "Specialist McKinney" and see what they have to say about reinserting my + auto loan ...

Anybody want to make predictions before I call the cra's? ;)

I called EQ about a removed auto tl and was first told to fax the EQ report that showed it and they would re-insert. I did and called to check on the status and was then told that the only way to have it re-inserted was to have the creditor request it. They said no way could they do it on the debtors request. Always a run around game.

It sounds like a runaround, Wildbill. GMAC has obviously sent you a form letter thinking you're trying to dispute an item. She didn't exactly address your question. I would try to get her on the phone. I doubt the CRA will reinsert it though.

If the CRA says that the OC has to re-report it, that's not true. The CRA's IT dept can pull your records off tape backup and upload it back to your credit file.

Just got off the phone w/an EXP rep & he said they only add information when a creditor contacts them with something to add. So, as we already new, GMAC would have to resubmit the loan information for reinsertion ... The EXP rep also mentioned I might not want to waste my time if the loan is close to 10 years old 'cause they would just remove it as soon as it was reported ... Wouldn't it figure ... The loan turns 10 next month! =(

I think George said that his credit history is 24+ years old. How did he keep the old stuff for so long???

I have a CC acount that is 101/2 years old. Since the account is active, it stays on the account.
