Does anybody know what kind of score you need for financing thru general motors?

With a reasonable down payment (The magic # $3500 seems to ring in here), they will finance you with a mid-500's score.

I applied online at gmac and got spammed for months in the mail with approval certificates good for local dealers.

Go for it, they are hurting right now, the lots are full. Get that new vette or firebird!! muahaha..

I can answer your question very simply. I have a 520 FICO score and my husband has a 540 FICO score.

We bought a 2000 Chevy Cavalier in April 2000, with only $600.00 down. We are financed through Nuvell Financial Corporation a subsidiary of GMAC (they use Nuvell for the credit challenged). The car cost over $18,000 and was brand new.... My interest rate is 9.9%, which I consider darn good compared to some of the others I have seen here...
