I am working on my biggest and most recent ugly on my reports,

    Collection account from 10/97
594, paid 264 settled (before I found CN)

(I was desperate, moving to a new state and this was an old apartment complex claiming I broke my lease) I was never contacted by the complex or the CA but it showed on my CR in 2/02!!!! That sucks. I found out when the new apartment complex denied until I cleared this up. So, I called the CA and paid Check by phone! I wish I knew then half of what I know now!

Okay enough history, so it has never been on EX, and TU drooped it off after 2nd dispute" not mine"

EQ however still shows, it is listed as Status "Date: 05/2002 Note: CONSUMER DISPUTES-REINVESTIGATION IN PROCESS "

I am on the fence here should I just wait out the EQ investigation? Or launch the Cousin of a Nutcase letter on the CA?
And why does it say status date 05/2002, is it because that is the first date of dispute. Anyway sorry this is so long but the waiting is killing me! Any help would be great.

Some recommend that you validate and dispute at the same time. Maybe its not too late to ask for validation or send the 'Cousin of a nutcase' letter.

    thanks LOVE

I was just concerned that the CA would recieve the validation request after they have responded to the CRA. I disputed on 7/27.

    shameless bump

Is it ever too late to validate?
