I am attending a Conference Hearing this Monday, 11/27. My husband and I are really walking into this NOT knowing what to expect. I'm really trying hard not to be nervous, but it's hard. Here's our little story -- They (AT & T Universal) have sent us ALL statements in the mail and we have also rec'd the Admissions questions document. We didn't answer them (but had originally answered their original request) #1- knowing we would be going to a hearing and #2 - we didn't answer it because it wasn't sent CMRR. Thing is -- how do I answer those questions at the hearing? Do I admit to it? Of course the amount they want is WAAAAY more than what it was when we stopped paying 12 months ago. We've also read somewhere not to sign anything while there. We've also been told they don't give a judgement right then and there -- they do it through mail? Is this true? Anyone have any experience they can offer to us? I just want the hearing over with. I know they will win judgement, but I fear the garnishment, etc.... If anyone can offer any advice, I'd be ever so grateful. mariea
I know I will not win, but I'm just doing the right thing. My understanding is that I don't WANT a default judgement against me. Someone correct me if I am wrong! I'm bringing with me the steps being taken. I just want to know what to expect when I walk in those doors. Anyone???
EVERY court has a pro se office and resource center that will guide you. You should have gone last week but if your hearing is late enough I would get there first thing in the a.m.
Thank you. You are the first person to tell us this. My biggest thing is how to answer the questions and what NOT to say. That's what has me the most nervous, I think. Our hearing is at 3, so we'll go early and see what we can't find out!
