I have a FCNB card for almost a year ($1000 CL) and a GetSmart Card for 7 months ($1000 CL) as well as 2 other cards such as Target 6 months ($500 CL), Home Depot 2 years ($500 CL) and a GMAC Auto Loan for the past 7 months ($17,000).

My last derog was over a year ago, no BK's. Equifax score about 600.

Question is, I want to get a card, preferably Gold, secured or not, that has coverage for rental cars.

    Any good suggestions?

    Thx.

I can't tell you about what credit to apply for but I have a gold debit visa card through my bank, Washington Mutual. I have to pay $6 a month for the privilege but that also includes free checks, money orders, cashiers checks, etc. I think it's a great deal plus the benefits of having a gold card while I restore my credit
