I have a student loan that was defaulted and was paid in 1994. TU has it has PAID but UNRATED DEFAULTED LOAN. They won't remove it because they say it is a positive entry...how can this be positive? I thought that UNRATED and ACCOUNT CLOSED BY GRANTOR are seen as negatives regardless the status of the account. Does anybody know if these are score killers and if they are how much are they worth?

    Thanks

I have an acct that says it's unrated, but in the memo it says inc in bk (which I didn't file, ex did)

Appears on neg part of report.

It is stuck like Chuck, too, even though I didn't file on this.

    four20nik,

we might be in a similar type of sitaution. My co-borrower filed and I have the same note on my CR.

There's a recent thread regarding a lawsuit that was settled. Maybe it will help? Search is currently not working.

I've tried disputing but it came back verified - perhaps with the new settlement things will change.

I thought about mentioning it, but at the same time, not sure which is worse...bk or charge off. Also, hoping (it was a repo) that they don't decide to come after me. Vehicle was repo'd in December of 99. I thought they have 2 years. State sol doesn't apply because written contract was broken by repo.

Have they attempted collection from you, even though co-buyer is the one who filed? Do you think that fin changing from bk to charge off they may do so? SUxks, because in this case, they really are deliberately reporting inaccurate info, but won't chnage it.

    lboogie,

How was the loan paid (i.e., did you pay it or did a guarantor pay it)? Who is reporting this trade-line: servicer, CA, etc.? What exactly does it say under the TU's status section?

No - the account is current and paid on time each month - the pain comes when I check my CR and see that acct listed as a negative item.

I'm not real sure what would happen with a repo.
