Anybody worked with a reasonable, kind hearted employee at Sallie Mae for a Good Faith adjustment to credit reporting of SL? I would apreciate any contact info for a kind hearted sole at SM, or even just a name! Ciao, 3day
This will sound weird.... but my Sallie Mae account was SO BAD that they had sent a letter to their guaranteed government organization. I was headed to collections big time. The guarantee agency called and told me to file for a forbearance (this has happened more than once in my life). I filed, and I believe at the time they said that this was backdated for the entire time that I was delinquent (perhaps 6 months or so?) Meanwhile, I took their offer to consolidate the loans into two (one is subsidized and one is unsubsidized.) What's my report show? It shows me as totally current. I have NOT done any credit repair on this TL AT ALL. I've not made a payment since 1999, even then I was slow. Either the forbearance or the consolidation updated my records. Now, who to talk to? I haven't a clue...I usually go to the web site to conduct business. I did call this week to rearrange payments, and got a guy who had the accent of someone from India and he was NOT unpleasant, but then again he was NOT helpful. Just wanted to read rules. I will say though that in the past I've called and had VERY helpful folks. Perhaps call and hang up in case you don't like the way it's going...and then call back... like roulette? Good luck!
