    Hi,

I need to chat with someone at Ed about rehabbing a school loan. I need the contact info (preferrably an email address) of someone there that is not a punk and will genuinely work with me on the payments.

I really hope one of you can help.

    Thanks,
    Sal

Actually, no collection agencies have it now - it's now back at EDFUND (as far as I know there is no 3rd party collection agency involved at this time)

    how much do you owe?

I have a small loan 5,000 that I was defalt for 5 years or more. I called the automated voice responce system and made payment arangments. you have to make payments on time for 12 full months and they will rehab your loan. I am just now getting mine done but all the negs came off my CR in 6 mo.

    DepTX,

Congratulations, I'm glad to hear you worked through the crap with them.

You metioned a "voice response system" - could you please explain to me how that works? Do you make payment arrangement without even talking to anyone? Whats the phone number?

As for my amount, it's now just under $14,000 with interest and collection charges.

automated system will ask you for you info, some to record some key pad entered. you should be given an option to make payments and you have to select an amount to send monthly. I said 50 bucks and the system auto aproved it. I don't know what it would do if you asked to pay less per month that the system allowed. but if you could afford, the orininal amount I am sure the system would aprove.

you may also be able to talk to a person from that number, I liked the phone sytem better.
