First of all, I just want to say thank you to everyone who responded to my bleak post. I've done a lot of thinking and am slowly starting to come up with a plan. My rent check has already bounced once and I have incurred $100 in late fees, which is crazy. I might have to ask my boyfriend to pay for it and I will somehow pay him back. I have been way too embarrassed to tell him what is going on but I think I might have to and pray that he understands. I do not mean harm to anyone or anything, I really am doing the best I can. I have cancelled direct deposit of my paycheck to my bank and have opted to receive a paper check instead so I can cash it at my local HEB. I also plan to get a prepaid debit card and am very excited to know that I can direct deposit my paycheck into that. This way, I can avoid those overdraft fees and everything else. I am also selling stuff on eBay and feel a little better that my stuff is already amounting to $200, which is great. Slowly, slowly....I am starting to see the light. You guys have given me great ideas and I WILL tackle this head on....I will NOT let it bring me down! I am so much more than this debt. I can do this!
Thanks for the update, and I'm very glad to hear that you're beginning to see the light! Since you're thinking of using a prepaid card, you should definitely check out the Amex Prepaid Card. It's the best option out there right now as it basically has no fees except a $2 ATM fee after you get your first ATM withdrawal free. Of course, you can easily avoid that $2 fee too by withdrawing cash at the grocery store. Best of luck as you sit down to have a discussion with your boyfriend too. I hope he will understand and be willing to help as much as possible.
Krilysa, I just read your update. After reading it I said, "It makes me feel so good". You can take charge of your money and let it know that you are the boss. We work for it and as soon as we receive our pay the money wants to get up and go somewhere. It seems to act like it is just visiting didn't come to stay awhile will be moving on soon. You got to talk to your money let it know that you have plans for it to benefit you. Before you get the paycheck make a written plan of how much you intend to keep for the "RAINY DAY FUND" . Remember its $500 to start as fast as possible and then repeat. Don't forget about you "The Krilyysa Fund" this is money that does not go anywhere because it is money that you keep. That is right YOU KEEP IT. Even if it is only $20 every 2 weeks will net you $520 a year. After 10 years you will have $5,200 in your little fund. So my dear you keep smiling and hold your head up high for tomorrow brings more opportunities. Good Night
