Do you guys remember when I had this miserable boss who refused to pay my final paycheck and then he had the nerve to sue me for $22,000 saying that I breached my contract when I quit even though I gave notice and worked it...etc etc. This lawsuit became an issue during my mortgage underwrriting and i was extremely upset about it....but I got the mortage anyway.... Anyways, he lost that suit and then my attorney filed a federal civil suit against him for my orignal amount $2,038 and damages of $15,000 plus legal fees. Well we won the civil suit this week and we go for determination of damages on 9/5/02. YEAH! I can use the extra case for my office. My legal fees were roughly $4000. I havent been on CN for a while b/c I have been busy building my dental practice. thanks for listening. roni
HI, The business is going ok. Things are slow but I am breaking even which is a great thing for a new business. I am at 80 active patients right now. That is great for 2 months open.....
Congratulations Roni! Getting any kind of busines started is a huge task and to have 80 active patients in only a couple of months is fantastic! Glad things worked out so well with the suit too. All the best! DemPooches
He of course is running around saying that he lost the case b/c his former dental assistant would not testify against me in the first case (his case against me). Of course his losing had nothing to do w/ the fact that he was dead wrong. He is a law student and didnt suffer any legal fees at all in this. He represented himself....heehee..... Anyways, he tried to bully me. He assumed I didnt have the cash on hand for a lawyer and would buckle in the pressure. But I did, w/ God's help.. His office even called the assistant to tell her it was her fault. Whatever. She wasnt even involved in the second case. Plus, I got THAT assistant a higher paying job so who 's side would YOu be on if you were her?
I do my own. I have a software which can generate electronic or paper claims. I use their clearing house for electronic claims if I like. Very simple.
Congrats, Roni. Great job with the business. It is super to be even after just 2 months. www.creditsense.com
Do any of you have experience with a case of this nature or determination of punitive/compensatory damages. I wonder if I will have to state what my damages are or will my attorney speak for me entirely. I had to testify for over an hour during the first case and I am so tired of this. How much in damages should I expect really. I am just wondering. Of course I will ask my attorney also.
