I know a lot of people have trouble with EQ but I thought I would share a positive outcome.

Okay...I posted about a month ago because Citibank was giving me a tough time removing the credit counseling note from my account(acct paid off and no longer with consumer credit counseling). Anyway, Citibank did remove it a couple of weeks ago but then they put CLOSED BY CREDIT GRANTOR. So then I was thinking...it really wasn't closed by credit grantor. Genus requested that they close my accts for me. ANYWAY, I disputed again. WHY DID I DO THAT????? Stupid mistake. Then they fired back with CONSUMER CREDIT COUNSELING AND CLOSED BY CREDIT GRANTOR. The only thing that saved me is that I had a letter from Citibank regarding Planet Feedback submission (I received this letter in the middle of my first dispute). In the letter they state that all references to cccs would be removed and the acct would reflect a zero balance. Sooooo yesterday at exactly 9 am I faxed the letter to Equifax. This morning I checked and the removed the statement about consumer credit counseling. Yeah..it is still closed by the credit grantor (which looks bad...I know but not as bad a cccs). That added to the fact that the fact that the account has never been late will raise a few eyebrows..I'm sure....

Anyway, I'm set to have all of my cc debt paid off in December. Tomorrow (after last payments post for this month), I'm going the remove the remaining accts from consumer credit counseling. I think if I would have removed Citibank earlier I could have avoided all of this. Oh and by the way..SEARS was GREAT about removing the notation too. They removed it right away. Plus they just said Closed acct..no reference to who closed it....

Anyway, I just had to share my happy news!! Equifax is still at 678. Just going to keep making timely payments and maybe I will get my house soon afterall! But no more disputes with Equifax. I have 3 old negs(1997) left but I'm trying to work directly with the creditors to get them to remove those. Maybe I will have luck like I did with Target. I'm not taking my chance with EQ again though.
