I'm having a bit of trouble here and need help. "Providian" sold my charged off account to "The Credit Store" who contacted me and I settled the debt with them. Providian on the other hand will not drop the "Transferred/Account Charged Off" mark from my CR. I don't think the Validation letter applies here however could try the "goodwill" approach but that kills any hopes of going back the validation letter. Any ideas???
I disputed my Charged Off Providian account with them directly using PsychDoc's Nutcase series. After the 2nd letter they sent ME an apologetic letter and promptly deleted the account. Give it a shot.
Thats very encouraging. I was planning on going the "Goodwill" way but if the "Nutcase" showed results. That's a good question, do you remember who you sent it to?
