I've been a longtime browser of the board, and thought I'd become an actual contributor.

Typical Crap 1 story. I had two accounts with them. A "secured" green marble card for 4 years with a paltry $300.00. line, and a 2 year old $5,000.00 Platinum toy card. No lates ever on either one. Got a pre-approved platinum mastercard app, bit the bullet and took three hards. Whopping $500.00 line offered. Called Crap 1 and told them $500 unacceptable, increase line or I would return card unactivated. Crap 1 wouldn't budge, so I returned card.

$300.00 secured card was up for annual fee hit, so I called again, and asked for CLI, and, "if possible" to have card turned into unsecured card. Spoke to customer service in India. When I got nowhere with them, while I was talking, I asked how much to close out account, while still on the phone, made online payment to close account, I was transferred to a Virginia based CSR nearly as fast. In the end, still no go, no CLI, or anything.

Final attempt to Crap 1, PFB'd explaining that I refused offer, and closed another account but didn't want to. Want to keep Crap 1, but would like a $1000 increase on my platinum toy card, which wasn't so much to ask because it was only $200.00 more than combined $500 CL and $300 CL that I had recently closed. That was three weeks ago. Still nothing from Crap 1, not even Mr. Cooke.

So . . . In the meantime, got a B of A platinum Visa pre-approved offer. Applied online: Instant approval $2000.00 CL.

Then took a stab with AMEX Blue, online. Approved for $10,000.00. I'm doing BT of my remaining Crap 1 balance to the Blue. Goodbye Crap 1.

Oh, FYI: Amex pulled EQ - 680 Fico. B of A pulled TU -- 644 Fico.

George is right. Once subprime with Crap 1, always subprime.

It's amazing that Cap 1 still treats customers like that.
