Sadly, I received word today from MBNA that they cannot delete any delinquencies from my account, etc., despite their desire to help me. THey even suggested that they could perhaps handle my refinancing for me...According to the "department manager" my letter was referred to, they NEVER do this, have legal restrictions, compliance issues, etc. I don't understand how some people have posted here about how MBNA has deleted tradelines through goodwill when they tell me it never happens, etc. Anyone with specific info, or contact information, please tell me! I'm getting nowhere.

What are the other options for an open CC account with historical late pays? I have disputed and been verified twice, once as never late, and once as dates in question are incorrect. Both times verified on all three reports. Is there a validation letter/nutcase letter relevant to an open (e.g. non-collection) account?

I don't thbink they care, frankly -- they seemed very interested in helping, just said goodwill adjutments are never made by MBNA. THey said they must have a proven reason for their compliance department. I'd love to close it, since I am at 23% on a 25K balance, and it's killing me...

MBNA deleted a late-pay tradeline for me after sending the Nutcase letter. This was a fully-paid, closed account (closed 2 years) which had been 120 days past due on a few occasions. They didn't answer my letter, nor did they acknowledge anything, however the tradeline just disappeared (voila, lol) about a week after they received the letter. I don't know if the Nutcase letter would work for an account that is still open, but I have serious doubts for a number of reasons; the letter was specifically written with closed accounts in mind. Still, you might look it over and see if you can't trailblaze a new path with some modifications. Or, you might close the account if you can, then wait a couple of months, and then do the Nutcase series.
