Hey everyone! This is my first post, after spending the last few days reading over many, many, MANY informative posts on this amazing board! What a great source of information this has been. Anyway, after pouring over all of my credit reports, I figured I'd start small and send out a goodwill letter via PFB to Parisian to remove two 30 day lates from 1998. Lo and behold, I get an e-mail 2 days later telling me they'd remove it without question from all three CRs (even though it's only on two of them). Woo hoo! I know it's small, but it's a start.
Thanks for all the warm welcomes! Okay, here's my credit repair saga. I started out in the 500s due to a lot of lates as a result of going with a CCCS, which I will NEVER EVER do again. I also went a few rounds with Providian when I had ONE late payment from the CCCS company (my fault), and they wouldn't accept anymore payments from them. I stopped paying them during the dispute, and whamm-o...tons of lates! Grrrr! After being intimidated by all of the ins and outs of credit repair, I hired Lexington Law. They got a few of the lates knocked off, but I didn't like the fact that I wasn't in control over the process. They did get me into the 600 club, so I feel like they did good work. Although, after reading some of the letters people got from them by accident, I have to laugh just a little... Now that I've become more informed about all of the options to me, I'm shooting for the 700 club so that I don't have to pay through the nose in interest for a new car. With all of your help, I'm sure I'll get there sooner or later!
