    Hi,

First off, thanks for the great information posted on this board!

I'm wondering if I should write a goodwill or nutcase letter to remove seven 90+ day lates from my paid student loan with Direct Loan Service System. I'm asking the question because in about 2 years I'm planning to attend law school, and will possibly try to apply for a Direct Loan again...so will writing a nutcase letter now hurt my chances of getting approved later? What your thoughts on this? I'd appreciate any input...thanks!

When you're messing with the government, it's a tough call. If you send the nutcase letter, it's hard to send a goodwill later. However, if you send a goodwill, you can always nutcase later.

Shouldn't affect your future loan prospects either way, unless you're in default at the time you apply.
